 Who we are

The Barony of Stargate is a local chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), within the Coastal regional subdivision of the Kingdom of Ansteorra. The SCA is a non-profit, educational organization dedicated to learning more about the Middle Ages through reenactment. There are SCA chapters worldwide and they hold regular feasts, tournaments, balls and battles.

Ansteorra includes all of Oklahoma and most of Texas (except El Paso). Stargate includes most of greater Houston. Our neighboring Barony of Loch Soilleir includes most of the greater Clear Lake area, including Webster and Pearland. The North Houston area is served by the Shire of Gate's Edge. Wherever you are we're a friendly group of people, so why not visit us all?

Mark your calendars for the weekend of May 3-5, and plan on joining fellow SCAdians from Bordermarch, Loch Soilleir, Raven's Fort and Stargate at the Coastal Grand Baronial Championship!

Congratulations to Stargate's own HL Andre de St. Michel, better known to most as Andrew Scarhart, who is Ansteorra's new Kingdom Bard! Vivat! Congratulations also go to Stargate's own Lord Joachim Silvertongue, who received his Award of Arms and a Sable Thistle for musical performance at Gulf Wars!

Join the Middle Eastern Dance Guild - all are welcome to come explore the ancient art of belly dance! Meetings are scheduled for the 2nd Sunday of the month at 6:30 pm, at Grace United Methodist Church in the Heights. No experience or garb necessary.More details...

Scribes Guild meets the 1st, 3rd and 5th Sundays of the month from 5:30-8 pm at the HEB Central Market grocery store on Westheimer at Weslayan. There may be no meeting May 5 due to Grand Baronial. More details...
